Reagan’s would-be assassin blasts Hilton security at star-studded White House Correspondents’ bash

It’s almost too ironic to believe—even the man who once attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan says security at the Washington Hilton is a joke. That’s right, the same hotel that nearly changed American history forever, where a deranged gunman nearly took down one of America’s greatest leaders, is back in the headlines. This time, the very person who once exploited their weaknesses is calling out the so-called “security” as wide open and hopelessly soft.

Liberals love to lecture about “safety” and “inclusion,” but can’t even secure their own high-profile events. Saturday night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner—AKA the annual party for Hollywood wannabes and virtue-signaling journalists—was left exposed at the very same Hilton in Washington, D.C. It’s no surprise the left didn’t learn from history. Instead of real vigilance, we got a bunch of puffed-up elites comparing fashion notes and patting themselves on the back, all while the entrance was about as secure as an open barn door.

Let’s not forget who the left loves inviting to the party—global glitterati, deep-pocketed donors, and D.C. insiders, all cozying up while average Americans foot the bill for their incompetence. They spend millions on “climate change” lighting displays and champagne toasts, but apparently nothing on keeping their own events safe. If even Reagan’s would-be killer realizes the Hilton isn’t up to the task, what does that say about our so-called ‘best and brightest’ running the show?

It’s almost as if the left prefers to make excuses rather than solutions. Maybe they’re hoping the “right kind” of threat never walks in—or maybe they just expect someone else to catch their mistakes. Far too often, these lessons come with blood, but no amount of history seems to crack their smug self-assurance.

Americans expect better than this circus of failure. If liberals can’t keep their elites safe behind velvet ropes and million-dollar security, how can we trust them to protect schools, small towns, or the border? Maybe next year, they’ll listen to the advice of someone who knows what real danger looks like. Or maybe that’s too much to ask from a crowd that can’t even lock the door behind them.
