Chaos isn’t just expected in Washington these days—it’s the norm. Watching the House finally greenlight the latest funding measures for the Department of Homeland Security felt like witnessing a team of wildcats get herded by someone with nothing but a broomstick and hope. The entire GOP conference was hanging by a thread, and yet, somehow, Speaker Johnson managed to drag just enough votes across the finish line. Democrats were waiting and watching, eager to see conservative resolve crack. But despite a handful of Republicans kicking up dust—especially over drama tied to the farm bill—conservative priorities kept moving.
Let’s be clear: the left wanted this process to blow up. Every procedural battle was a new episode of their favorite spectacle—the Republican civil war. Yet, when the smoke cleared, conservatives pushed through a budget framework that paves the way to keep America’s borders defended and ICE funded through the rest of Trump’s term. It’s not perfect, but it’s strong medicine for the open-borders crowd who dream of abolishing ICE and turning Border Patrol into paper-pushers.
Of course, liberal incompetence shines brightest when it comes time to actually govern. The so-called “resistance” was more interested in gamesmanship than getting security back on track. Since February, they’ve been content to let DHS funding hang in the balance, all while headlines about chaos at the border pile up. It’s almost like their anti-American agenda counts on weakening the agencies sworn to protect us.
Meanwhile, conservatives had to swat away distractions, especially from farm bill bickering and desperate attempts from establishment hacks protecting special interests like pesticide giants. And as usual, the globalists tried to slip in poison pills—just look at the digital currency nonsense sneaked into the FISA extension. Some in the Senate threatened to tank the deal, all to keep their pet projects alive. The American people aren’t fooled; they know who actually fights for their freedom and who sells it off to the highest bidder.
Let’s give credit where it’s due. Republicans just took a big step toward restoring order and giving our border agents what they need. The left and their big government cronies want chaos, empty promises, and a weak America. Conservatives fight for law and order, even when it means battling their own ranks. Isn’t it time the rest of Congress stopped putting globalist schemes and liberal drama ahead of national security?
