May Day has always been the playground for communists. While the rest of us salute the flag and go to work, leftists around the world use May 1st as their own twisted holiday—celebrating Marx, Lenin, and all the failed “workers’ revolutions” that have brought nothing but misery. This year, President Trump used May Day as an opportunity to remind us all who actually stands up for freedom. Instead of throwing roses at tyrants, Trump sharpened his axe—dropping fresh sanctions on the worst thugs in Cuba’s communist regime.
The Cuban dictatorship has crushed its people for decades. They jail, torture, and silence anyone who dares speak out. The American left loves to pretend Cuba is some tropical paradise, but the truth is miles of misery, breadlines, and broken dreams. Yet how often do we see liberals in Hollywood, college campuses, or even Congress fawning over Castro and his cronies? They love to praise Cuban “healthcare” and “education,” but ignore the prison cells and firing squads.
President Trump’s move throws a wrench in the works for these anti-American apologists. By sanctioning the regime’s most corrupt officials, he stands against the kind of international cowardice shown by weak-kneed Democrats and global elites. Unlike Obama, who rushed off to shake hands with Havana’s dictators and handed them gifts, Trump puts America first—calling out tyranny instead of cozying up to it. Imagine if Joe Biden had the backbone to say one tough word about the Castro regime. Don’t hold your breath.
Let’s be honest: Globalist interests have always had a soft spot for the Cuban regime. They hate anything that looks like strong, unapologetic American values. That’s why you’ll see them complain about these new sanctions, whining that “engagement” is somehow the answer. Engagement only works when the other side has a soul. The Cuban regime sold theirs long ago. The left is just upset because Trump exposes the fraud.
So, on this May Day, while leftist activists wave their red flags, President Trump reminds the world that the only flag worth waving is the Stars and Stripes. Will the Democrats ever stop apologizing for tyranny and start defending freedom? Or will they keep dancing to the same failed Marxist tune?
