The Biden administration and its liberal cronies love to talk about “fairness” and “job security”—just ask their pals in the unions. But watch what they do, not just what they say. Earlier this year, FEMA started axing disaster workers left and right by simply not renewing their contracts. These are people Americans rely on when chaos hits. But the bureaucrats in charge thought it made sense to send them packing, as if natural disasters ever take a holiday.
Predictably, the usual pack of left-wing organizations—including unions and so-called “scientific advocacy” groups—rushed to court and started crying foul. Suddenly, the administration hit the brakes. Now, in what looks like a clear attempt to cover their own tracks and appease their base, FEMA is quietly offering jobs back to those same employees. It’s worth asking: if they believed their decision was right, why scramble to undo it as soon as the lawsuits pile up?
This is liberal leadership in a nutshell—make rash decisions, then backpedal when the backlash gets too loud. Who pays the price? Ordinary Americans. Think about it: while FEMA was busy playing musical chairs with its disaster teams, who would’ve stepped up if a real emergency struck? Clearly, protecting the American people wasn’t their top priority.
Let’s not kid ourselves. The people pushing these policies aren’t concerned with efficiency or safety. They’re flexing muscle for the globalist elite and their special interest groups. Labor unions get their drama, Democrats get their photo op, and hardworking folks are left to wonder if their government will actually show up when it matters. The hypocrisy is unreal—one minute they talk about “serving the people,” the next they’re playing political games with disaster relief jobs.
Maybe this embarrassing flip-flop will open some eyes. The left can sermonize about “workers’ rights” all it wants, but when it’s time to actually lead, it folds faster than a cheap lawn chair. Don’t let the slick talking points fool you—when it comes to putting Americans first, these liberals are the last ones in line.
