When it comes to calling out problems overseas, few do it with more style than Louisiana’s own Senator John Kennedy. The man’s got a way of peeling back the nonsense and getting straight to the truth, and this time, he set his sights on Iran’s brutal regime. While the left keeps tripping over themselves to look “diplomatic” with tyrants in Tehran, Kennedy says what every American already knows: Iran is a splintering mess, and it’s their own fault.
Why is Iran in this predicament? Years of crushing their own people, stealing their money, and funding terror across the Middle East. The Biden administration still acts like if we just play nice, the Ayatollah will turn into Mr. Rogers. Meanwhile, the Iranian regime is falling apart from inside and losing control. Watching leftwing talking heads try to “understand” Tehran is like watching someone try to pet a rattlesnake—they’re surprised every time they get bit.
Only in Washington do so-called experts act shocked that oppressing citizens and waging war abroad doesn’t lead to stability. Regular Americans aren’t fooled. Kennedy knows exactly what millions are thinking. Iran’s leaders aren’t victims. They’re bullies who finally have to answer for their corruption. And yet, too many Democrats want to rush in and save them with pallets of cash or some “historic deal.” What’s historic is that the regime keeps stumbling and the left keeps making excuses.
Let’s be clear: Iran is not America’s friend. Their government hates freedom and they hate us for daring to defend it. All those years Obama and his foreign policy club tried to buy peace with Iranian extremists only made them bolder. Now, the mask is off, and even liberals can’t pretend it’s business as usual. Iran’s rulers are terrified of their own citizens, and for good reason.
It’s about time our leaders stopped tiptoeing around tyrants and started laughing at their failures. That’s what Senator Kennedy gets: the best way to handle shameless dictators is to tell it like it is—and remind the world that America doesn’t cower to thugs. Maybe if more Republicans talked like Kennedy, and less like wishy-washy globalists, the world would be a safer place. How much longer will the left keep making excuses for the world’s worst regimes?
