Is your favorite golf course next as DC elites move to erase American tradition

Liberal bureaucrats always seem to know best. This time, they have their sights set on East Potomac Golf Course, the historic public course in D.C. For decades, hard-working Americans—young and old—have enjoyed a slice of green in the middle of the nation’s capital. Now, the National Park Service wants to march in with so-called “maintenance,” and a federal judge has thrown the green light their way.

Let’s be real: when big government moves in “for your own good,” it’s rarely good for regular people. Locals know these “repairs” aren’t as innocent as D.C. elites would have us believe. Maintenance? More like a sneak attack meant to shut down and gut a beloved community space. The left is always eager to bulldoze history and American tradition, all in the name of “progress.”

Of course, the unelected paper-pushers and their activist friends cry crocodile tears about “preservation” and “access.” They love tossing those words around. But the second they sniff an opportunity to close off spaces from the taxpaying public—especially something as wholesome as a public golf course—they can’t resist. They talk about “equity” and “green energy” while locking everyday Americans out of their own land.

This is how the liberal playbook works: target tradition, disrupt community, and pretend it’s all for the public good. Meanwhile, who really benefits? Certainly not the families, veterans, and young golfers who count on this course. When government power teams up with so-called “preservationists,” the public gets left behind, every time.

Americans should pay attention. What’s stopping the government from coming after your local park, shooting range, or fishing hole next? Let’s stop pretending these projects are anything but thinly veiled attacks on American values. How much more of our history and freedom are we going to surrender before the people in charge remember who really owns this land?
