Once again, the United States military is left doing the heavy lifting for global commerce. Maersk, the massive Danish shipping company, just sent one of its ships through the dangerous Strait of Hormuz, but it only made it safely because brave American forces kept watch. That’s right—while other countries cash in on global trade, they rely on American muscle to keep the sea lanes open.
This isn’t just about one ship. The Alliance Fairfax, a U.S.-flagged vessel, isn’t some random freighter. It represents American interests, American jobs, and American goods. Yet it’s still foreign globalist giants like Maersk that get all the benefits of these supposedly “free” trade routes. And when terror or foreign threats rear their ugly heads, who do they call? The United States, every single time.
While leftists in Washington drone on about shrinking the military and cutting defense budgets, they conveniently ignore the simple truth: without a strong U.S. Navy standing guard, much of the world’s oil, food, and goods would be held hostage by hostile actors. It’s only when things get dicey that even the most anti-American globalists suddenly scramble to beg for American protection.
But where’s the “international community”? Where is Europe, where is the United Nations? Nowhere to be found, as usual. They’re happy to pass resolutions and lecture Americans about “restraint,” but when it’s time to put boots on the ground and ships in the water, they disappear. Americans foot the bill and take the risks—while the globalist elite rake in the profits.
Maybe it’s time to ask: why is the U.S. military still protecting everyone else’s business, while getting little gratitude and even less respect in return? If Europe and the globalists want the benefits of free trade, maybe they should start paying up and standing up—for once. Or is the plan to just keep hiding behind American power, hoping we never notice just how one-sided this deal really is?
