Seattle has become a playground for criminals, and left-wing politicians are rolling out the red carpet for them. Case in point: a 77-year-old man gets off a bus, just trying to make his way home. Instead, he’s ambushed by two thugs, including Ahmed Abdullah Osman, and left battered with a broken arm, smashed knee, and a nasty cut that needed stitches. The man is still in the hospital. This is the city liberals promised would be “safe and inclusive.”
But here’s where it gets even crazier. If Seattle’s socialist mayor Katie Wilson gets her way, the city’s cameras that actually caught this brutal attack would be shut off—because she claims they endanger “refugees.” Think about that for a second. Democrats are more worried about protecting criminals or so-called “refugees” from being filmed than they are about the safety of law-abiding, elderly Americans who just want to walk home in peace.
Wilson blocked a new camera expansion, whining about surveillance instead of focusing on crime. She even promised to kill every surveillance camera in the city if the federal government tried to crack down on illegal immigrants. Under this kind of “leadership,” cameras aren’t for catching dangerous thugs—they’re supposedly tools for oppression. Meanwhile, it’s the innocent, hard-working people who get stomped on and left bleeding.
And just when you think it can’t get any worse, the system lets the bad guys off the hook. Osman wasn’t just arrested for this savage assault—he was released the very same night, before even facing a judge. Now he’s roaming free, nobody knows where he is, while his elderly victim suffers in a hospital bed. This is what happens when Democrats and their far-left prosecutors prioritize criminals’ “rights” over the lives and safety of real Americans.
They claim to care about “community” and “justice,” but what they really do is destroy neighborhoods and let crime explode. Choosing radicals and activists over cops and common sense means more danger for everyone—except the criminals, who get a free pass. When will the people of Seattle wake up and stop letting leftists turn their city into a lawless wasteland? If voters keep trusting Democrats like Katie Wilson, who will be left safe?
