As Vice President JD Vance flies across the Atlantic to Switzerland, American conservatives have every reason to be skeptical. Once again, our leaders are playing footsie with Iran — a rogue nation that has spit in our faces for decades. The so-called “peace talks” and the never-ending drama of ceasefires in the Middle East is just more political theater for the globalist elite. Meanwhile, American interests are left to hang in the wind, sacrificed on the altar of diplomatic appeasement.
It’s telling that the Biden administration’s answer to aggression is to rush back to the same people who chant “Death to America.” Now, Vance is rubbing elbows with Iranian bigwigs, clutching a pile of paperwork and a “memorandum of understanding” like it’s going to magically keep the world safe. Liberals always love a good ceremony, but their pageantry never actually delivers results. Peace can’t be dictated in fancy Swiss hotels—not when America’s enemies smell weakness from a mile away.
Let’s look at who’s running this circus: special envoys who are more at home selling real estate than defending America’s security. Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff apparently think that cutting deals in the Swiss Alps is a substitute for strength. Conservatives know better. All this talk about shoring up “tentative ceasefires” between Israel and Lebanon is just hot air. If we learned anything from the Obama administration, it’s that pandering to Iran gets Americans nowhere but deeper into trouble.
Switzerland may be beautiful, but right now it’s just another playground for the globalist class. The people orchestrating these talks will gladly undermine America’s allies in the region—especially Israel—if it means getting their names printed on a piece of paper. Liberals are quick to undermine our friends and coddle our enemies, all while hiding behind meaningless agreements. That’s not foreign policy; it’s cowardice.
It’s time America remembered what real leadership looks like. If Vance and his crew think the American people are fooled, they’ve got another thing coming. Why should we keep trusting career politicians and backroom dealers to safeguard our interests? Maybe the answer is simple: stop treating our enemies like partners and start acting like the strong, unapologetic nation we once were.
