Once again, the Democrat obsession with soaking the rich has taken center stage. This time, it’s Ro Khanna, the Silicon Valley congressman who loves to talk a big game about “fixing” wealth inequality. He calls it a “moral failure,” but somehow his own massive wealth—over $232 million by some reports—never seems to keep him up at night. He wants to slap a new tax on high earners, but when asked to pay ahead of time, he gets quiet fast.
Grover Norquist, a bulldog when it comes to protecting Americans from leftist tax grabs, recently challenged Khanna to put his money where his mouth is. The math is simple: if Khanna truly believes in taking 5% of Americans’ net worth, he could willingly surrender $11.6 million of his own fortune today. Just sign the check to the U.S. Treasury. It would, in liberal theory, set the example for those “greedy” billionaires he loves to lecture about. But guess what? Don’t hold your breath. That check isn’t coming.
This isn’t just about Khanna’s hypocrisy—it’s about the whole phony game. The Left loves to parade wealth taxes as a solution for everything, but it’s usually billionaire politicians and globalist elites doing the finger-pointing. They rake in money thanks to America’s freedoms, then turn around and try to tax regular folks, small businesses, and anyone who creates value. Liberals preach about “fairness,” yet their own leaders refuse to walk the talk, just like Khanna dodging Norquist’s challenge.
The pattern is old news. Liberals pontificate about closing the gap between rich and poor. They grandstand about justice, but never show courage in their own lives. It’s all smoke and mirrors—designed to score votes, rile up envy, and grab more power for the bloated federal government. Meanwhile, Americans can see right through the hypocrisy. If Democrats want the rich to pay more, maybe their millionaire leaders should start with themselves before looking our way.
Next time Khanna pushes for a wealth tax, remember this: he had the perfect opportunity to prove his “moral” devotion. All it took was a pen and a checkbook. Instead, he chose double standards and political theater. If liberals can’t even pay their own proposed taxes, why should any American trust them with a dime of their hard-earned money?
