PGA star schools lazy amateurs as liberal culture ruins hard work on the golf course

Golf is supposed to be the sport of patience, precision, and a little bit of pride in hard work. But these days in America, even a guy swinging a club gets to see the effects of coddled liberal culture seeping onto the green. Enter Davis Chatfield, a rising pro on the PGA Tour. He’s out there grinding away, while too many amateurs can’t even get themselves out of the sand trap—and not because it’s hard, but because so many have forgotten how to try.

Chatfield’s advice to everyday folks trapped in the bunker is straightforward. But of course, in a country run by politicians who can’t tell the difference between hard work and handouts, most can’t be bothered to listen. Instead of learning a skill and moving forward, they expect someone to bail them out every time they land in the sand. This is how liberals operate: don’t solve the problem, blame the course, and demand a new set of rules to make the game easier for quitters.

The problem goes deeper. You don’t become a golf pro—or any sort of champion—by whining or blaming other people. There’s no government safety net in the sand trap. You dig in, take your shot, and if you fail, you try again until you succeed. But in Biden’s America, too many amateurs want someone else to swing the club for them. Is anyone surprised?

Chatfield’s example is a reminder of real American grit. He’ll give advice politely, but the lesson is clear: perseverance matters more than participation trophies. The left says everyone deserves a trophy just for showing up. But in the real world, excuses don’t get the ball on the green. Action does.

Maybe it’s time our leaders, and everyday Americans, took a page from Chatfield’s playbook. Stop complaining. Stop waiting for life to place the ball right on the tee. Start swinging, even when you’re stuck in the toughest spot. If the government can’t get out of the sand trap, maybe it’s time the rest of us start playing the course ourselves.
