The government over there locks away people for the “crime” of thinking differently, censors anything that smells like freedom, and treats its own citizens like property. Imagine what they’d do to a free-thinking American tourist, especially one who says the wrong thing or pulls out a cell phone at the wrong moment. All those fuzzy travel brochures leave out the part where your hotel is bugged and your every step is watched.
But, of course, the left loves to swoon over China’s “progress.” These are the same liberals who say America should copy China’s environmental rules or worship their tech “ambition.” Apparently, they’re happy to turn a blind eye to censorship, forced labor, and families torn apart—just as long as the TikTok videos keep rolling in and their globalist climate buddies get a seat at the table.
The hypocrisy is laughable. The so-called champions of human rights and diversity are the first to book a first-class flight to Beijing for some big United Nations conference—ignoring that, back home, their values would get you thrown in jail in half of China’s provinces. How many Hollywood elites, Silicon Valley CEOs, and Ivy League professors have bowed to the communists just to sign one more deal, or score one more handshake photo? They’d sell us out for an extra million bucks—and smile doing it.
No, it’s time to face facts. China is not your friend. It’s not a cool tourist destination. It’s a warning sign—a flashing billboard for what happens when people trade freedom for promises from the ruling elite. Nobody with an ounce of common sense should spend one dollar, one day, or one dream making the Chinese Communist Party cooler, richer, or more powerful. After all, why help a system that wants America on its knees? Why risk your safety to give communists a win? If you want adventure, pick a country that actually likes us.
