James Talarico’s new multi-million dollar ad blitz is everything wrong with today’s failing Democrat Party. He’s burning through donor cash to spread a fairy tale about his “bipartisan” work and support for Texas families. But don’t be fooled—it’s all smoke and mirrors. Talarico loves to brag about affordability, yet his entire record screams the exact opposite.
Let’s start with Talarico’s claim about championing the largest property tax cut in Texas history. Reality check: he couldn’t even bother to co-sponsor the bill, even when the majority of his own party did. When Texans were desperate for relief, he sat on his hands. Even worse, he voted against similar efforts in 2019 that would have protected hardworking families from out-of-control tax hikes. Strike one.
But it gets worse. Talarico is hostile to tax cuts across the board. He’s trashed the very legislation that slashed taxes for families, saved thousands of jobs, and let parents keep more of their paychecks. He didn’t just oppose these measures—he smeared them as immoral and attacked anyone fighting to let Texans keep more of what they earn. Apparently, in Talarico’s world, government greed beats common sense.
Dig into his record, and you find a laundry list of anti-taxpayer votes. He has tried time and again to block bans on state income taxes, wealth taxes, and even death taxes. Meanwhile, he campaigns for higher corporate taxes—because nothing says “I care about working people” like making it harder for folks to get jobs and pay the bills. Is there any tax that Talarico doesn’t want to raise?
And don’t get started on corruption. As usual, the left says one thing and does another. While pretending to fight for ethical government, Talarico attacked bills that would have ended shady, no-bid contracts for lobbyists. All this while pocketing fat checks as a consultant for far-left education schemes. Add in the sketchy story about his romantic relationship with a staffer, and it’s just more proof of how deep the hypocrisy runs.
Texans deserve leaders who aren’t owned by woke special interests or foreign-minded policy groups. Enough lies. Enough fake promises. Talarico isn’t just out of touch—he’s the face of everything that’s wrong with the radical left. If he thinks Texans will fall for his act, he’s completely delusional. How many more times do we have to be fooled before we say enough is enough?
