Democrats keep falling over themselves to protect criminals, and nowhere is that clearer than what’s happening in Austin right now. Republican lawmakers are finally putting their foot down, opening a much-needed investigation into Travis County District Attorney José Garza’s flat-out reckless policies. Garza is the left-wing DA overseeing Texas’s capital city, famous for its “keep Austin weird” motto—a motto that apparently now extends to letting illegal aliens skate right past justice.
It’s not just about being soft on crime. It’s about actively shielding dangerous lawbreakers from the consequences of their actions. Under Garza, the DA’s office has been accused of going out of its way to keep ICE in the dark, holding back records and looking for every excuse to let criminal non-citizens avoid deportation. While hardworking Texans pay the price—both in rising crime and lost faith in their government—Garza seems more worried about the feelings of foreign lawbreakers than the safety of local families.
Republicans demand transparency, and for good reason. Garza’s policies have made Austin a sanctuary for criminals. The DA’s office actually promised to expand “diversion programs” to help foreign nationals dodge the law whenever possible. Felony charges? No problem—as long as you’re not an American citizen, you get a chance at a free pass and a ticket out of deportation. Even worse, cases have been mishandled so badly that repeat offenders and serious criminals have escaped prosecution entirely, just to be shipped off somewhere else. Doesn’t the public deserve to know how many dangerous criminals are let go—simply because of woke, soft-hearted policies?
When Republicans in Texas tried to hold DAs like Garza accountable, the left went nuts. They whine about “protecting immigrant communities” while families in Austin worry about safety in their own neighborhoods. Garza and his fellow progressives love talking about “equity” and “inclusion,” but they don’t spare a thought for the innocent victims of crime. Their values start and end with radical ideologies, not real-world public safety.
This isn’t just one rogue office—it’s part of the Democrat playbook. Globalist, anti-American interests want to dismantle law and order, opening the doors to chaos. Garza’s office isn’t just failing to enforce the law; they’re flipping the script, treating citizens as expendable while illegal offenders are coddled and protected. How much longer will Texans tolerate this two-tiered justice system? How many more criminals have to be set free before the left finally wakes up?
