The American people are demanding secure, honest elections. Yet, once again, our leaders in Washington are dragging their feet. The SAVE America Act—a simple, commonsense bill—has hit a brick wall in the Senate. Why? Because too many Democrats, and sadly a handful of weak Republicans, are terrified of real accountability at the ballot box.
The SAVE America Act isn’t complicated. It says that if you want to register to vote, you need to prove you’re a U.S. citizen. And when you show up to vote, just show a photo ID. That’s it. Sounds fair, right? Well, not if you’re part of the liberal elite who see open borders and a messy election system as a way to grab more power.
The real reason Democrats are fighting this bill should be obvious by now. They love loopholes. They thrive on confusion and chaos at the polls. Why else would they oppose asking voters to prove who they are and that they have a right to vote? It’s the same story every time—liberals scream about “voter suppression” but never care about protecting the sanctity of our elections.
It’s not just Democrats to blame, though. A few so-called Republicans in the Senate can’t seem to find their spine. They want to play nice, keep the Washington cocktail circuit happy, and get pats on the back from left-wing media. While they stall and chop up the SAVE America Act, Americans are left wondering who their leaders are actually working for. Spoiler alert: It’s not the folks at home.
President Trump has had enough. He’s calling these politicians out—loudly. His message is pretty clear: put America first, protect the vote, or get out of the way. If these career politicians can’t pass the SAVE America Act—something as basic as photo ID and proof of citizenship—maybe it’s time the voters show them the door. How much longer are we supposed to put up with politicians who care more about woke talking points than the future of our country?
