Democrats love to talk about “freedom”—at least, until it actually means letting parents make decisions about their own children. Once again, nearly seventy Democrat lawmakers just proved they’re not interested in transparency or choice. Their latest move? Fighting against simple warning labels that would help parents know if kids’ TV shows include transgender or non-binary characters.
Why are these politicians so desperate to keep moms and dads in the dark? The answer is clear: they know most parents don’t want their children exposed to radical gender ideology dressed up in bright cartoon colors. Democrats are terrified that if parents actually knew what was in these programs, they’d hit the off switch—or demand real changes from the networks. Instead, they’d rather parents quietly trust the elites’ agenda and stop asking questions about what their children are watching.
The loudest defender of this secrecy? Massachusetts’ own Ed Markey. He’s out there pretending this is about “protecting vulnerable communities,” as if honoring Pride Month means trashing parental rights. But if Democrats cared even a little about empowering families, they would support the idea that parents get to decide what’s right for their kids. Democrats claim that a simple warning label is “government censorship” and “stigmatizing,” but they’re all too happy to micromanage every other detail of American life when it fits their own woke narratives.
The hypocrisy is off the charts. Hollywood sticks a warning label on a movie if there’s a thunderstorm, but parents can’t even get a heads up if a show is pushing gender confusion and identity politics on children. The left says there’s nothing harmful about making trans or non-binary people main characters in kids’ shows. That’s their opinion. But who made them the arbiters of decency for every American family? Liberals demand so-called tolerance, but what they really want is total control—especially over children’s minds.
America is splitting in two. On one side are families who believe in reality, sanity, and the ability to say that men are men and women are women. On the other are progressive elites who want to erase standards, erase definitions, erase anything traditional. Parents have a right to know what their kids are watching. Why are Democrats so scared of the truth? Maybe because they know sunlight is the best disinfectant.
