There’s a lot of noise these days about those massive data centers popping up in places like Georgia, Texas, and Virginia. You’d think the world was ending, the way left-wing activists are screeching about them. Supposedly, these big, boxy buildings are eyesores and make too much racket. The NIMBY crowd is out in full force—unless it’s one of their own special pet projects, of course.
But here’s what Democrats and their eco-warrior buddies hope you’ll ignore: these data centers aren’t just giant server farms for tech companies—they’re a force for good, driving down the cost of electricity for hard-working American families. When these tech giants build in our states, they’re tapping into power grids and investing in local infrastructure. That extra juice in the system means the average Joe pays less to keep the lights on. Funny how liberals will toss around words like “equity” and “fairness,” but when it comes to actual savings that help real people, they suddenly go silent.
And let’s not forget the economic boost. Data centers create good, decent jobs—construction work, security positions, and technical roles that pay well and don’t require a four-year indoctrination at some leftist university. Towns that used to be dying are seeing new life because of these projects. Yet the left wants to demonize them, pretending the mere sight of a new building is the greatest threat since plastic straws.
Of course, the globalist elite would love nothing more than to chase these data centers out of America entirely. Maybe ship them off to China—where, by the way, no one cares about “community input” or “local impact.” That’s the real hypocrisy. The same folks who claim to care about the “climate crisis” seem all-too-happy to drive investment overseas just to make themselves feel morally superior. Meanwhile, you’re stuck paying higher bills, and small towns are left behind—again.
These data centers are symbols of American strength and innovation. The left can keep clutching their pearls, but conservatives know progress when we see it. Maybe instead of whining, the anti-business crowd should step back, pay attention, and ask themselves a simple question: When was the last time liberal hand-wringing ever paid your electric bill?
