Why Are American Taxpayers Footing the Bill for China’s Future Leaders?
Here’s a shocker that should infuriate every hard-working American: For more than two decades, a public university in Missouri has been using taxpayer dollars to educate the next generation of Chinese Communist elites. That’s right—while families in the heartland scrape to pay for their kids’ education, Missouri State University has been running an MBA program that rolls out the red carpet for Chinese government officials, military employees, and bigwigs tied to China’s sprawling state-run industries.
Who decided this was a good idea? It gets worse. This isn’t just some foreign exchange for students who love apple pie and football. The program specifically trained over 1,500 Chinese executives and officials, many of whom went on to high-level jobs in companies closely tied to China’s military machine. We’re talking about state-owned giants like AVIC, a company so notorious for working with the Chinese military that it’s been slapped with federal sanctions. Some graduates even ended up working for tech firms blacklisted by the U.S. for building tools used in Uyghur surveillance. The facts are clear: Missouri State rolled out American degrees to people who help power the Chinese regime.
But don’t be fooled into thinking this was some friendly partnership. The Chinese Communist Party itself picked which students would get in—only the most loyal got the nod. While U.S. students have to pass English tests, these hand-picked CCP favorites got special treatment and didn’t even have to bother. At the same time, Chinese delegations overseeing defense came to campus like they owned the place. It’s almost as if the university was operating as a training ground for the Chinese government—and the American taxpayer was left holding the bag.
How much are we talking about? Try millions of your dollars. The Chinese regime covered half the tuition. The students chipped in about $27,000. The rest—roughly $27,000 per student—was paid by Uncle Sam. That means Americans were forced to subsidize the education of CCP officials, many of whom now spend their days helping build China’s military and expanding its grip across the globe. This isn’t just government waste—it’s Washington and ivory tower elites selling out the very people they’re supposed to protect.
And what does the university say? The leadership shrugs it off, claiming no taxpayer funds went to this program. But while they hide behind technicalities and weak audits, the program is still alive and well. In fact, Chinese schools are already advertising it for the next year’s class. Where are our so-called leaders? Why isn’t this outrage front-page news every day?
This is what happens when out-of-touch liberals and globalists run our universities. They sell American interest to the highest bidder, all while telling us we need to “be more inclusive” and “open-minded.” But it’s not open-minded to help train the very people who threaten our freedom. It’s just plain reckless. If Americans don’t stand up and demand answers, what’s next—free pilot school for the Chinese air force, courtesy of Missouri?
