Something rotten is happening in New York. In last night’s primaries, a wave of self-proclaimed Marxists and communists swept through like a bad fever dream. Every member of Zohran Mamdani’s radical crew won their races. That’s right—the far left, the people who romanticize failed ideologies, just booted out some of the Democratic Party’s old guard. Say goodbye to so-called “establishment” politicians. One of the biggest names to get knocked off the pedestal? Rep. Dan Goldman, the man who spent years whining about President Trump and doubled down on being pro-Israel. Apparently, standing up to anti-Semitism is now a crime in the eyes of these new Democrat socialists.
With this socialist hurricane tearing through our politics, one might think Democrats would have an answer for their radical shift. No such luck. When Delaware Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester went on television, she got thrown a softball—one question even a middle schooler should be able to answer: Where has socialism ever worked? The silence was deafening. She simply dodged and grinned, refusing to name even a single example where socialism has done anything but wreck lives and economies. Is this really the best the Democrats have to offer?
Let’s be clear. These left-wing crusaders talk about justice and equality, but they never want to talk results. Is their model Venezuela, where people beg for food and basic medicine? Cuba, where free speech disappears faster than toilet paper? Or maybe the Soviet states, where breadlines stretched longer than a Biden press conference? Socialism is a proven disaster, but these Democrats want to pretend it’s just “misunderstood.” The truth is, they can’t answer the question because the answer destroys their narrative.
The hypocrisy is the most galling part. These same folks love their luxury city apartments, iPhones, and Whole Foods cabinets stocked with quinoa. But when asked to explain their own ideology—a system that fails and destroys everywhere it’s tried—they get cagey and change the subject. If socialism is so wonderful, why can’t any of its loudest supporters defend it on national television?
America is awake now. The radical left can dodge questions all they want, but regular folks see through the circus. Socialism doesn’t solve problems—it creates chaos, inequality, and crushing misery. Maybe next time, Democrats will have an answer. Or maybe they’ll just keep running and hiding, hoping no one notices that their dream for America is everyone else’s nightmare.
