For years, the political elite have played by their own rules while everyday Americans are slapped with the book for far less. Today we see that same old double standard in action. John Bolton, a so-called foreign policy “expert” and darling of the Washington establishment, just walked away from seventeen serious charges by taking a guilty plea for a single count tied to mishandling national defense documents. That’s right—he makes a deal, dodges the worst of it, and probably sits comfortable while others would have their lives wrecked.
Let’s not forget, Bolton is the poster boy for arrogant, out-of-touch government insiders—those same globalists who have pushed America into endless wars and then cashed out at cushy think tanks. This isn’t the first time someone from that club has skirted real consequences. Regular Americans see first-hand how corrupt insiders cut deals while the justice system hammers folks on Main Street for minor slip-ups. One rule for them, another for us.
We’re told over and over again that “no one is above the law.” Yet here’s Bolton, the mustachioed media darling, dodging responsibility after keeping classified materials he had no right to possess. Liberals love to howl about security when it means targeting conservatives, but when it’s one of their own neocon buddies, suddenly the outrage machine just runs out of gas. These same leftists who spent years screaming about “collusion” and “national security” are suddenly silent when one of their old pals gets a slap on the wrist.
This mockery of justice shows just how broken the system really is. The progressive bureaucrats running the show love to punish their political enemies, but in typical hypocritical fashion, they let their friends cut sweetheart deals. They call themselves the adults in the room, but all they really do is protect their own—no matter the cost to our country’s security or integrity.
So, while the Beltway crowd toasts another win for their swampy old boys’ club, Americans are left to wonder when, if ever, the powerful will face real justice. Or is the rule of law just another tool for the left to hold power and crush dissent? Once again, the American people are reminded: the system isn’t broken, it’s rigged—just not in their favor.
