Governor Whitmer keeps bragging about her so-called “jobs plan.” But Michiganders aren’t getting what she promised. The numbers don’t lie: Her $1.8 billion spending spree has created only 602 jobs. Do the math—each job cost taxpayers roughly $3 million! That’s not job creation. That’s economic insanity.
Whitmer and her liberal allies splashed taxpayer cash on massive companies—car manufacturers, battery factories, even a paper mill. The money was supposed to build a future for Michigan, but what did we actually get? Vacant lots, canceled deals, and empty promises. The biggest winners are global corporations, not working families. Two of the most talked-about auto plant deals didn’t even result in new jobs—just more money funneled into propping up old operations.
Michigan’s green “investment” turned out to be a giant bust. Millions went into electric vehicle plants, with dreams of thousands of new jobs. Now, those dreams are shrinking fast. Battery factories are still under construction, but already, job goals have been slashed. Meanwhile, taxpayers keep footing the bill for contracts that produce nothing but disappointment.
Liberal elites love to throw around big words about “progress.” But who benefits from these backroom deals? Not the hard-working people of Michigan. While Whitmer uses taxpayer money to play economic Santa Claus for her corporate pals, families face rising costs, crumbling infrastructure, and failing schools. All that spending, and the only thing growing is the government’s list of broken promises.
Whitmer’s time as governor is coming to an end, but insiders know she’s eyeing a bigger stage. If this is her idea of leadership—spending billions to buy a handful of jobs for her press releases—imagine the damage she could do in the White House. Taxpayers deserve real results, not political theater and fairy tales. When will Democrats learn: Michigan isn’t a playground for their social experiments and globalist schemes?
