California is at it again. The politicians running that state—including Gavin Newsom—seem dead set on pushing away anyone with ambition, anyone leading a business, anyone responsible for jobs and growth. And who do they target most viciously? The people they label “the wealthy.” In California, having wealth is suddenly a dirty word, unless you belong to the elite ruling class—think washed-up former House Speakers or self-anointed “coastal progressives”—whose fortunes would raise an eyebrow (or two) if anyone dared to look too closely.
Newsom’s latest attack? A new healthcare tax—a thinly veiled excuse to grab even more cash from hard-working families and business owners. California politicians have never found a taxpayer they couldn’t squeeze. Now, they’re finding fresh ways to burrow into the pockets of the actual producers—the people who build, hire, and succeed despite California’s mountain of red tape.
Liberals moan about fairness, but they’re handing out special privileges to their own while punishing everyone else. Forget growing the economy—what matters now is soaking anyone who dares to achieve. This isn’t just bad policy; it’s a scorched-earth campaign against free enterprise, the backbone of America. If you make something of yourself, prepare to have Sacramento come after you faster than you can say, “audit.”
Meanwhile, Newsom and his friends love to grandstand about “equity” and “compassion,” all while living fat off the system. Their hypocrisy is jaw-dropping. They rail against business leaders in public, but behind closed doors, they’re collecting donations and perks from the same corrupt circles they pretend to despise. Try asking any regular Californian how those “compassionate” policies work out when they see yet another paycheck gutted by new taxes.
How much longer will families, workers, and entrepreneurs take this abuse before they simply pack up and leave for sanity? Maybe that’s what Newsom and his crowd want: an empty California they can run without opposition. California used to be a symbol of the American Dream. Now it’s just a warning sign on the road to ruin.
