It happened again. A North Carolina jail became a war zone, and who paid the price? Hardworking correctional officers and local law enforcement. Early Monday morning, violent inmates at the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail decided they were in charge. They jumped the guards, took two hostages, and tried to turn the building into their own personal playground of chaos.
Authorities scrambled to regain control. Around 80 inmates had to be removed just to keep things from getting worse. Thankfully, after tense hours, all three correctional officers survived the ordeal and got medical help. But let’s be honest—what kind of broken system allows jailers to become prey in their own workplace? Only in a country where the left obsesses over “inmate rights” and soft-pedals consequences for criminals.
This isn’t some isolated blip. Just a few months ago, the same jail had a fire started by another troublemaker. Setting fires, seizing hostages—criminals are getting bolder because they know they can get away with it. Do you think this would have happened if our leaders actually prioritized law and order over woke talking points and endless coddling of criminals?
While the sheriff boasted about putting safety first—and, thank God, the officers walked out alive—it’s time for the radical left to face the facts. You can’t run a civilized society if you tie law enforcement’s hands and treat prisoners like hotel guests. Where’s the accountability for these violent thugs? And how about backing up those officers who risk everything trying to keep us all safe?
It’s time for a real crackdown—not just in North Carolina but across this country. How many more “incidents” like these do we need before politicians finally put the safety of citizens and officers above the feelings of criminals? Maybe instead of worrying about “prison reform” and woke nonsense, liberal leaders should focus on locking up the lawless and making sure they stay there. Or do they want all of America to look like a jail run by the inmates?
