World Cup season is here, and that means the usual circus comes to town – this time landing squarely in liberal-run Boston. It’s almost funny. The left loves to complain about “foreign influence,” but when the World Cup rolls around, they roll out the red carpet for every global tourist chasing soccer glory and celebrity chefs. Enter Freddy, a soccer fan from Germany, who made his pilgrimage all the way to the Boston area just to watch Germany face Paraguay at Gillette Stadium.
This is what the left wants: open borders, global tourism, international events – all while ignoring the everyday American struggling to get by. Freddy gets his “treat” from Gordon Ramsay, likely in one of those overpriced city restaurants, while the average Boston parent can barely afford groceries for the week. Liberals like to preach about equality, but you don’t see them complaining when the global elites flood into American cities, hogging resources and attention. For them, as long as there’s a photo-op or exotic accent, basic rules and American common sense go out the window.
Meanwhile, Gillette Stadium becomes a playground for the global elite, not the blue-collar fans who once made sports great in this country. Sure, soccer brings in dollars, but at what cost? Security is stretched thin. Local infrastructure gets hammered. The working class gets priced out. But why would Boston’s liberal leaders care? As long as they look diverse and inclusive on cable news, reality can take a back seat.
And let’s not forget the World Cup organizers themselves – a nest of globalists if there ever was one! They swoop into America with their demands, their tax breaks, their arrogant assumptions that Americans exist just to serve. What does Boston get once the German fans and the international cameras leave? A mess, a hangover, and the bill—dumped right in our laps by the open-arms left.
Let’s be honest: this isn’t about sports. It’s about globalist theater and virtue signaling, all paid for by the American taxpayer. Maybe Boston politicians should spend less time posturing for tourists like Freddy and more time helping their own citizens. Or is putting Americans first too much to ask in the woke era?
