Massachusetts liberals have found a new way to embarrass America. This time, in a stunning act of leftist overreach, a town is telling patriotic residents they can’t even display the American flag because it might “bother” some tiny bird. You read that right—the stars and stripes must come down, all because a few confused officials care more about the feelings of plovers than the pride of the American people.
Just think about this. After nearly 250 years of American greatness, we’re letting radical activists and nervous bureaucrats dictate where—and whether—we get to fly our own flag. It’s yet another example of the anti-American nonsense that’s taken over blue states. These people are so desperate to appease globalist eco-agendas that they’ll trample tradition and insult their own neighbors in the process.
This is happening as the United States shines on the world stage, hosting a successful World Cup and winning respect from international visitors. Our men’s national team is showing guts and spirit, but back home, liberal leaders can’t seem to muster the same pride. Instead, they cave to woke hysteria at the first sign of protest from animal rights extremists and environmental busybodies.
It’s always the same story: hysterical progressives invent a crisis, force Americans to walk on eggshells, and then pretend they’re heroes for taking away our freedoms. God forbid someone, somewhere, waves a flag that is “too loud” for a bird. Meanwhile, these same officials fall over themselves to praise every foreign visitor or new global fad—just not the heritage of their own country.
Americans have had enough. Towns and cities used to celebrate the flag, not hide it under threat of some ridiculous fine or citation. If this isn’t proof that liberalism has run off the rails, what is? Are we really going to let a handful of out-of-touch zealots decide that our national identity isn’t welcome in public anymore? Maybe it’s time someone reminded the left that, in America, the flag comes first.
