Roy Cooper caught rewriting history as crime skyrockets in North Carolina

Roy Cooper is at it again, rewriting history to try and save his own skin. He’s out there acting like his disastrous time as North Carolina’s governor didn’t unleash a wave of crime and chaos on the state. Now, as the Democrats’ golden boy for the Senate, Cooper is desperately spinning tall tales, pretending he’s some kind of public safety champion. It’s laughable. Anyone who’s actually lived in North Carolina over the last few years knows the truth — crime went up, families felt less safe, and the streets paid the price for Cooper’s soft-on-crime agenda.

Liberal politicians love to pretend they’re tough on crime when election season rolls around. But the facts are stubborn. Under Roy Cooper, violent criminals got the benefit of the doubt while law-abiding citizens got left behind. His policies made it easier for repeat offenders to stay out of jail and harder for police to do their jobs. It’s the typical left-wing recipe: blame the cops, coddle the criminals, and hope voters forget when things go south.

The hypocrisy is stunning. While Cooper enjoys elite protection and cozy offices, working-class people in towns across North Carolina locked their doors and prayed nothing would happen to their families. He now expects voters to believe he’s the answer to rising crime, all while the liberal media cheers him on. It’s typical globalist nonsense—always looking out for their own, never for the people who actually keep this country running.

Everyone knows liberal policies wreck cities. You just have to look at what happened in Charlotte, Raleigh, and communities across the state under Cooper’s watch. He’d rather virtue-signal about “criminal justice reform” than do the hard work of actually making neighborhoods safer. The left’s answer is always the same: ignore the victims, give criminals another chance, and throw cops under the bus. That’s not just incompetent. It’s dangerous.

Roy Cooper can run all the campaign ads he wants. North Carolinians see through the lies. The real record is impossible to hide. If voters want more lawlessness and more excuses, they know who to call. But for everyone else who’s tired of being ignored by the liberal elite, it’s time to say enough. How many more times will Democrats put politics over public safety before Americans wake up?
