In New York City, Cubans are packing up and heading for the water — again. But this time, they aren’t rowing away from Fidel Castro’s regime in Havana. They’re desperately trying to escape the rotten mess that progressives have turned America’s largest city into. Try to name a more embarrassing sign of liberal failure than immigrants, once fleeing communism, now grabbing their life jackets to get out of a socialist paradise in the making.
Let’s face the facts: the so-called land of opportunity is sinking under the weight of its own leftist leaders. The socialists and globalists running New York have brought us back to square one. High taxes, dangerous streets, homelessness everywhere. Sanctuary city? More like a playground for crime and government handouts. The failed promises and endless spending on “equity” have left regular people — and hardworking immigrants — with nothing but chaos and empty pockets.
Liberals love to talk about “progress.” Well, if progress means turning America’s greatest city into a place people would literally risk their lives to escape, maybe it’s time we question their definition of success. The city’s so broke and broken, even people who crossed oceans to avoid socialism are lining up for makeshift rafts at the East River. That’s not “progress.” That’s regression on a grand scale.
The hypocrisy cuts deep. The same politicians who preach about “helping the oppressed” are the ones driving honest, freedom-loving people into the arms of despair. Cubans know what real tyranny looks like. When they start saying enough is enough, maybe America should listen before our whole country floats down the same path.
Liberals claim to care about immigrants, but it’s all talk and virtue-signaling. Real people are suffering. If the so-called leaders ever bothered to ask, the answer would be clear: nobody came to America to live in another failed socialist experiment. If even Cuban refugees want out, how long before the rest of us need a raft?
