After nearly three decades in Congress, Diana DeGette got steamrolled by Melat Kiros, a 29-year-old socialist who’s never held office before. DeGette wasn’t beaten by a sensible moderate or even a fresh Democrat with bold ideas. She was taken down by someone even further left—proof that the Democrats are purging their own for not being progressive enough.
Let’s not sugarcoat this. DeGette wasn’t exactly a conservative darling. For years, she marched in lockstep with the Democrat machine, rubber-stamping endless spending, open borders, and anti-American “woke” crusades. Apparently, that wasn’t extreme enough for her base. Instead of defending American values, the Democrats are now doubling down on failed socialist promises. That’s right—when your party isn’t satisfied with three decades of progressive nonsense, it’s because the radicals are steering the ship.
Kiros, hailed as the next big thing by globalist elites, has been propped up by the same activist networks that helped turn safe blue cities into poster children for rising crime and crumbling infrastructure. Don’t be fooled by talk of “fresh leadership” or “new energy”—what’s really on the horizon for Coloradans is more government control, reckless spending, and fewer individual freedoms. Socialists like Kiros promise “change,” but it always comes at the cost of American prosperity and security.
Make no mistake—this isn’t just a Colorado problem. The rise of out-of-touch, openly socialist candidates is becoming the rule, not the exception, in Democrat primaries across the country. The American Left has abandoned workers, families, and anyone who believes in traditional values. Instead, they’re lining up behind ideologues who answer to global interests and the social media mobs, not hardworking Americans.
Voters need to ask themselves: if Democrats are willing to boot out their own simply for not destroying America fast enough, what’s next? If socialism is the new “center” for the Democratic Party, what does that say about their respect for our Constitution, our freedom, or the people they claim to represent?
