Texas Democrats meltdown over Talarico rumors while ignoring real issues facing Texans

Texas Democrats have outdone themselves once again, scrambling for headlines and virtue points by saying that supporters of James Talarico—a radical U.S. Senate candidate—are nothing but transgender, gay, tofu-eating vegans. This is the sorry state of “leadership” on the left: reduce everyone to a stereotype, virtue signal about identity politics, and hope the real issues can be ignored. Meanwhile, the average Texan is left wondering, what happened to talking about real problems?

But here’s where the left’s circus act gets even more farcical. Take Bobby Pulido—one of Talarico’s loudest cheerleaders. For years, Pulido has fought off all sorts of tabloid gossip and online nonsense about his sexuality, including the latest batch of rumors claiming he’s having love affairs with journalists. He’s threatened lawsuits, issued stern denials, and has had to explain that anonymous trolls are fueling most of these accusations. Despite this, the rumor mill grinds on, powered not by facts but by agenda.

Why does the left care so much about who Pulido supports or how he lives his life? Simple. They’re obsessed with playing identity cards rather than confronting the stubborn failures of their own party. Texas Democrats thrive on labeling people with the latest activist baggage—if you don’t check all their woke boxes, they want you canceled or caricatured. They know their policies don’t work, so they turn every campaign into a chaotic guessing game about personal lives.

Never mind the hypocrisy. When Pulido starred in a decade-old music video as a cross-dressing character, liberals went wild speculating about his private life. Suddenly, artists and conservatives aren’t allowed to act or poke fun, but if the left’s Hollywood darlings do it, it’s “artistic expression.” The double standard is as obvious as it is ridiculous. Conservative Texans see right through it.

This is what you get when Democrats run out of ideas: smears, rumor-mongering, and a relentless fixation on who eats what or who loves whom. Meanwhile, families are struggling, the border is a disaster, and American values are under siege. Maybe it’s time Democrats stop obsessing over tofu and Twitter drama and start focusing on the backbone of Texas—the hardworking men and women who couldn’t care less about identity games. When will the left realize Texans want leaders, not attention-seeking activists? More importantly, do they even care?
