Buffalo City Hall just gave America the cold shoulder—right in the heart of Independence Day week. That’s right. The same leaders who canceled the city’s traditional July 4th fireworks (our nation’s birthday!) wasted no time in rolling out the red carpet for someone else’s flag. Barely twenty-four hours later, the Somalian flag was hoisted high above Niagara Square in the name of “diversity.” If you felt a knot in your stomach reading that, you aren’t alone.
Of course, the liberal officials behind this charade will shout from their soapboxes about how “diversity” is our real strength. But apparently that only counts if you ignore American traditions and disrespect the millions who love this country. Canceling fireworks—a cherished symbol of our freedom—and replacing them with foreign flags sends a crystal-clear message: America comes last in today’s left-wing playbook.
This isn’t just tone-deaf. It’s deliberate. On the most patriotic week of the year, the city’s priorities couldn’t be clearer. They’ll strip away the celebration that unites us all, but rush to virtue-signal the latest globalist fad. You can bet that if someone suggested a bigger display of American pride, they’d call it “controversial” or “exclusive.” The double standard is hard to miss.
Ironically, while city leaders pat themselves on the back for “inclusivity,” all they’re really doing is dividing people. Ignoring American tradition, eroding patriotism, and embracing foreign symbols in public spaces isn’t progress—it’s betrayal. These same politicians never seem to miss a chance to kneel before the altar of woke activism, but are nowhere to be found when it comes time to actually honor American values.
Does anyone else wonder whose country this is supposed to be? If our own elected officials can’t even celebrate the Fourth of July without apology, maybe it’s time to start asking why we keep letting these out-of-touch elites run the show.
