The Bronx is showing us the ugly truth about the so-called “Raise the Age” law in New York. This week, the Bronx District Attorney took action against 19 people accused of being in violent gangs. The list of charges reads like a crime spree: conspiracy, attempted murder, assault, illegal weapons—you name it. It’s exactly what you get when liberals pretend that coddling violent teens is smart criminal justice.
The criminal chaos in cities like New York isn’t happening by accident. When left-wing politicians push soft-on-crime policies, the criminals celebrate. The so-called “Raise the Age” law treats young gang members as if they’re misunderstood school kids, not hardened criminals. The finger-wagging activists claim we’re supposed to feel sorry for these dangerous thugs, but what about the real victims—ordinary law-abiding Americans who get caught in the crossfire?
Politicians and district attorneys who roll out the red carpet for criminals, then act shocked when gang violence explodes, are either clueless or just don’t care. The Bronx D.A. threw the book at this gang, but how many others are still out there, armed to the teeth and emboldened by liberal laws? The left never wants to admit their own policies feed this chaos. They tell us “second chances” will magically fix broken neighborhoods. But all it really does is keep doors revolving at the jail.
Hardworking families shouldn’t have to dodge bullets because some clueless politician wants to look “compassionate” in front of their activist buddies. The result of this “progressive” justice is predictable: more bloodshed, fewer consequences, and neighborhoods living in fear. The globalist elites who push these ideas aren’t the ones dealing with nightly shootings. They hide behind security gates, while the rest of us see our streets disappear to crime.
If our leaders actually cared about safety, they’d stop pandering to criminals and start protecting their citizens. Maybe the next time a gang runs wild, the politicians will finally come out from behind their talking points and admit their failures. Or do they secretly prefer a society where gangs run the show, and honest people just survive? That’s a question every New Yorker needs to ask before it’s too late.
