Iran Bullies Christians—And the Left Just Yawns
Leave it to Iran, the world’s poster child for Islamic extremism, to threaten innocent Christians just for daring to exist. The news out of Tehran is almost unbelievable—except it isn’t. The regime is trying to rip the last remaining Christian families out of their own church, erasing their faith from the heart of their own capital. If you thought religious freedom was hanging by a thread in the Middle East, you’re giving Iran way too much credit. For Christians under this regime, that thread snapped a long time ago.
Tehran’s autocrats aren’t even hiding their motives. They’re angry about the war with the U.S. and Israel, so their answer is to stomp on a tiny group of believers who just want to worship in peace. This isn’t some isolated incident. It fits right in with Iran’s pattern: silencing minorities, trampling on women, and crushing any view that defies their twisted vision of Islam. The so-called leaders of that country pride themselves on “slapping America back.” But let’s be honest—they’re only brave enough to bully peaceful families clinging to a centuries-old church.
And where’s the liberal outrage? The folks who fill up our social media feeds victim-shaming Israel and shrieking “humanitarian crisis” have nothing to say when Iran crushes Christians or any minority group. Suddenly their compassion dries up like a puddle in the desert. It seems the only time the left cares about “oppression” is when they can blame the West or prop up their own political narrative. They stay quiet on Iran because it doesn’t fit their anti-American script.
Americans should thank their lucky stars for the First Amendment. Here, you can believe what you want and practice your faith without the government kicking down your church doors. Does anyone think Iran is “misunderstood” or just needs more diplomacy? Get real. Appeasing bullies does nothing. Only a strong America—unapologetic about its values—can put despots like Iran in their place.
Let the left keep their double standards. Meanwhile, the rest of us will recognize what’s actually at stake. Iran doesn’t want “tolerance”—it wants total control. The world’s “progressives” ought to take a long look in the mirror and ask themselves why their outrage is so selective. Maybe it’s easier for them to look away than admit the truth. After all, where are the campus protests for these Christians?
