Liberal leaders leave Bronx Jewish families powerless in deadly heat wave

New York liberals never waste a crisis, and this time, they’re turning up the heat—literally—on one of their own neighborhoods. Riverdale, a Bronx community known for its vibrant Jewish population, was left to sweat in darkness when city leaders allowed Con Edison to cut the power at the worst possible moment. While the city cooked in a brutal summer heat wave, those charged with protecting citizens shrugged, flipped a switch, and left families helpless.

Is this what the so-called “progressive” leadership calls compassion? Cutting the power to a tight-knit, religious community—all in the name of “protecting equipment”—is a cheap excuse. We all know liberal politicians love to talk about equity, but when their own infrastructure plans fail, average Americans are the first to suffer. Funny how the city always finds a way to punish the communities that don’t fit the globalist, left-wing agenda.

It’s no coincidence that the Riverdale neighborhood, with its tradition and faith, became the latest victim of big government neglect. When it comes to flashy green programs and empty promises, New York’s elite is always first in line. But when Jewish families need reliable energy to care for their children and elderly during deadly temperatures, suddenly there’s nothing these “leaders” can do.

Year after year, Democrats insist they have all the answers. They claim to care about minority rights, safety, and equality. Yet time and again, they prove that their policies are for show—leaving real people to suffer the consequences. Instead of investing in a truly dependable energy grid (you know, the kind that works in a heat wave), city officials just pull the plug and pretend it’s “for your own good.”

Ask yourself—who benefits from this chaos? Not hardworking families. Not the elderly, not the children, not anyone who simply asks for honest leadership. Once again, the left’s empty words are exposed. Does anyone really believe these people are on our side? Or is this just another example of liberal hypocrisy at its finest?
