This time, so-called progressive leaders want regular New Yorkers to suffer through brutal heat by cranking their thermostats up to a stifling 78 degrees. That’s the new normal under Democrat rule—more discomfort, less freedom, and no real accountability.

Think about it. We’re living in one of the most advanced nations on Earth, and yet the people of New York are told they need to sweat it out just to keep the lights on. All those promises about green energy and modern infrastructure? Empty words. Instead of results, residents get treated like children who need to be scolded by their political betters. The message from the radicals running that state is clear: lower your standards, not just your energy use.

Let’s call this what it is—liberal incompetence. Decades of Democrat control have turned what was once a world-class city into a place where citizens are supposed to be grateful for working air conditioning, if they’re allowed to use it at all.
