San Diego cancels July 4th fun to push woke agenda and patriotic families are furious

Something rotten happened in San Diego this year, and it perfectly sums up the cluelessness of liberal leaders running the show. Instead of throwing a big, proud Independence Day bash like any normal American county, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors decided the Fourth of July needed to be about so-called “equity” and “racial justice.” Fireworks, flags, and freedom? Nope. The new leftist priorities shoved American traditions right out the door.

While patriotic families just wanted to celebrate the birth of the greatest nation on earth, the board chose to play political games. They twisted one of our country’s most important holidays into a lecture about identity politics. What happened to honoring American heroes and sacrifices? Why does everything have to be about division and guilt these days? The answer is simple: because the far-left doesn’t care about unity, only about pushing their woke agenda.

This move shows just how tone-deaf and out-of-touch these politicians have become. Instead of bringing people together, they used taxpayer money to virtue signal. They turned a day that should focus on freedom into one about blaming and shaming the very country that gives them their cushy jobs. Ordinary Americans got shoved aside so elites could pat themselves on the back over their “progressiveness.” It’s hypocrisy at its finest, and frankly, it’s un-American.

This is classic liberal incompetence. Instead of fixing real problems—crime, homelessness, failing schools—the board wastes time and resources policing our holidays. Maybe they should spend less time babbling about “equity” and more time making streets safe for families. Or maybe, just maybe, Independence Day should actually be about independence for once, not another political stunt.

San Diego is just a warning sign of what happens when Americans let out-of-touch globalists and radical progressives run wild. If people want their July 4th back, want to feel proud to be American again, it’s time to kick these bums out. If local leaders can’t even get Independence Day right, what else are they going to mess up next?
