America used to know how to throw a birthday party for itself. Back in 1976, this country celebrated its 200th birthday—the Bicentennial—with pride and unity. Ordinary folks came together to honor the founding, even though Watergate and Nixon’s exit were fresh wounds. Back then, Americans still put country before petty politics.
Fast forward to today. Now politicians and the media want to fight about everything. Liberals can’t leave a single flag-waving event untouched. They obsess over every detail, demanding apologies for the Founding Fathers and rewriting history lessons for woke approval. Instead of simply celebrating American greatness, the left would rather argue, divide, and shame people for loving their homeland.
This year, the America 250 celebrations are supposed to bring us together. But good luck. The left has been so busy tearing down statues, renaming schools, and telling everyone this country is rotten to its core, it’s hard to remember what a real patriotic celebration even feels like. It’s no wonder average citizens feel hesitant about joining in.
This isn’t just about parades and fireworks. It’s about a spirit the elites have tried to stamp out—a belief that America is worth celebrating, flaws and all. Our ancestors didn’t cower and apologize for the nation’s history. They built parades when it was time to unite. They waved the flag despite scandals, because America’s core values mattered more than partisan whining.
Globalists, leftists, and their media allies won’t rest until every American tradition is politicized and poisoned. But here’s the truth they can’t take away: this nation is at its best when ordinary people stand tall and refuse to let the haters win. Maybe it’s time to remember that Bicentennial spirit—and ask ourselves why liberals fear unity more than chaos.
