There’s nothing sadder than a desperate Democrat trying to stay relevant on America’s birthday. On the Fourth of July—a day for fireworks, freedom, and pride in our nation—Gavin Newsom decided to throw one of his trademark pity parties. Instead of celebrating the land of liberty, California’s wannabe president went on the attack, painting a gloomy picture and tossing out tired scare tactics about MAGA Republicans and supposed threats to democracy.
It sounded oddly familiar, like Joe Biden’s infamous red-tinted tantrum in Philadelphia back in 2022. That’s when Biden shrieked about “extremism,” blaming everyday Americans who dare to disagree with his party. Now, Newsom is following his mentor’s failed lead—trying to whip up fear and distract voters from his own disaster of a record.
Here’s the truth the media will never say: Newsom doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Golden State is losing residents by the tens of thousands, burned out by high taxes, disgraceful homelessness, and rampant crime. Businesses are fleeing. Families are tired of being ruled by bureaucrats who care more about global climate virtue-signaling than putting bread on the table. That’s on Newsom—and no amount of angry speeches can change the facts.
While red states celebrate American greatness with parades and barbecues, Newsom and his Democrat friends want to scold the country, wagging their fingers about “threats to democracy” as they trample free speech and push their radical agendas. It’s the same hypocrisy every July 4th: men and women who can’t even run their own states pretending they’re the only ones who can save the nation.
Maybe the real threat to America comes not from conservatives who love this country, but from left-wing elites who’d rather tear our traditions apart than admit their own failures. If Newsom’s the best the Democrats can trot out, maybe their party’s fireworks have fizzled out for good.
