The Democratic Socialists have their fists wrapped so tightly around the party that they’re pushing Shapiro and anyone else clinging to sanity straight to the margins. Shapiro’s warning is too little, too late. The radicals are steering the ship, and the so-called “moderates” are either too cowardly to speak up or too weak to do anything about it. It’s hard to know what’s more embarrassing: the Democratic Party’s surrender to the radicals, or their fantasy that they can hide it from the American people.
