While the radical left tries to erase American pride and shame us for loving our country, real patriots just showed how it’s done in the heart of Washington, D.C. On the Fourth of July, when the usual suspects on the left were probably wringing their hands about “weather emergencies” and “public safety,” regular Americans just shrugged off the storm clouds and came out anyway. They gathered by the hundreds at the Salute to America event. It didn’t matter if the sky was about to break loose—nothing was going to stop these proud citizens from flying their flags and celebrating the greatest country on Earth.
These heroes didn’t cave to fear. They didn’t let the doom-and-gloom media or some technocrat’s weather alerts cancel their independence. That’s the American spirit liberals spend so much time ridiculing or trying to stifle. For too long, the elite left has told us that patriotism is dangerous, that gatherings are risky, and that pride in our nation is outdated. On this Fourth of July, ordinary folks proved them wrong, turning damp sidewalks into a dance floor of red, white, and blue.
Contrast this with what leftist bureaucrats would have us do. They’d have everyone hide indoors, glued to screens, obediently following every order from on high. They want a nation scared of its own shadow, not one that stands tall—rain or shine—for freedom, family, and country. Whether it’s weather fears, pandemic panic, or whatever crisis they cook up next, the left always seems to have a reason for us to stop celebrating America.
Even as storms threatened, you didn’t see these D.C. patriots shrinking back. You saw American resolve: young and old, shoulder to shoulder, proving that no storm—literal or political—can extinguish our love for liberty. Try as they might, the liberal media can’t drown out the sound of national pride. These people showed up, sang their songs, waved their flags, and made you proud to be an American.
So, as the woke mob and their globalist backers try to rain on our parade year after year, ask yourself—who really stands for this country when things get rough? The answer was clear in the streets of D.C.: it’s the brave men and women who never apologize for celebrating America. Maybe it’s time the rest of the country joins them and remembers what true patriotism looks like.
