Hollywood hides the real George Washington and liberals want you to forget him

America wouldn’t exist today without George Washington. That’s a fact the left loves to ignore. Too many modern historians and Hollywood elites want to tear down our Founders and paint them as villains. They refuse to admit what Washington truly was: the very cornerstone of the American project. It’s no wonder some folks are finally making movies that show the real George Washington—a leader made of courage, sacrifice, and faith, not the watered-down figure liberals want us to see.

Washington didn’t just float to the top of Virginia society because of luck or privilege. This man worked, risked, and outsmarted the British-backed money interests of his era. While other members of the gentry were content being puppets for foreign markets—especially the greedy Glasgow tobacco merchants—George Washington led by example, showing his fellow Americans how to build their wealth, their honor, and their own destiny. He was the very opposite of today’s globalist elites and career politicians.

Was Washington a perfect military genius from day one? No, and that’s exactly why he’s such an inspiration. He struggled. He failed. But unlike the fragile leaders of our time—who run for the exits at the first sign of trouble—Washington stuck it out. He saw the bigger picture. His faith in the American cause, and his relentless dedication, kept his scrappy army from quitting when any normal group would have just given up. This is the kind of backbone sorely missing in today’s leaders, especially on the left, where defeatism and self-pity are the norm.

The liberals love talking about “threats to democracy,” but they ignore how Washington handled actual threats. When power-hungry military men plotted a coup, Washington shut them down—not with violence, but with his authority and character. Later, he did what most people in power would call crazy—he gave it up, peacefully stepping away after two terms as president. Can you imagine any of today’s establishment politicians giving up that kind of power voluntarily? Of course not! They’re too busy lining their pockets and expanding their power, while pretending it’s all “for the people.”

George Washington set the standard for everything this country should be: honest, strong, brave, and selfless. It’s high time Americans remember what real leadership looks like, instead of the empty suits and virtue-signalers who dominate the headlines now. Maybe if more folks learned about the Washington most haven’t met—the real, flawed, yet heroic man—we’d have a country worth believing in again. Or have we all forgotten what “leader of the free world” is supposed to mean?
