The fact that President Trump may have had a hand in defending an American soccer player only makes their Trump Derangement Syndrome flare up into a full-blown tantrum.
While FIFA claims their decision was completely independent, leftist mouthpieces are desperate to spin it as corrupt “favoritism.” You’d think the Left would be cheering for their own country’s success, but that would mean admitting America isn’t the villain they always claim. Instead, they’d rather slap an asterisk on every American victory and whine about “unfairness,” just because Trump had positive involvement. Their priorities are exposed for the world to see—they’d rather America lose than see Trump or the United States win.
It’s a joke, but a revealing one. These elitists can’t stand that World Cup matches in America are running smoothly and players like Balogun are helping put the U.S. on top. Every time the national team scores a point, it grates against the Leftist agenda. There’s even chatter in liberal circles about how hard it is for Democrat politicians to swallow the good news. Make no mistake: the loudest anti-American voices are always the first to whine when the country succeeds under a conservative president.
Meanwhile, these same critics don’t bat an eye when calls go against other teams or when their favorite players face injustice. Their outrage is selective—it’s only a problem when something goes in America’s favor. This is the same crowd that has lied about crucial laws just to make red states look bad and pushed bald-faced falsehoods to sell their pet narratives. Trusting them on anything, let alone international sports, is a fool’s errand.
America doesn’t need a permission slip from global elites or failed columnists. Americans cheer for their own team and don’t care what Nicholas Kristof or any anti-Trump hack thinks. The Left only gets mad when the right team wins—and that tells you all you need to know. Maybe next time, these complainers can explain why they root so hard against their own country. Isn’t it rich that the self-appointed moral guardians throw temper tantrums every time America comes out on top?
