Liberal America’s obsession with the so-called “Reflecting Pool scandal” is just another glaring example of the left picking useless battles to score cheap points against anyone who doesn’t bow to their narrative. For years, that iconic pool sat neglected, riddled with algae and filth—no one on the left seemed to care about that. But the minute President Trump wanted to clean it up in time for America’s 250th birthday, suddenly it’s a national outrage. The media’s meltdown is theater, plain and simple.
Let’s get the facts straight. The pool needed repairs. When workers tried to fix it, the left—true to form—started throwing a tantrum. Radicals even managed to vandalize the place, turning the situation into the kind of mess CNN loves to milk for drama. And when the fixes didn’t go smoothly or quickly enough, the anti-Trump press accused conservatives of neglect, as if algae and cracked marble are patriotic now.
But the real kicker? The closure of the Reflecting Pool wasn’t even about repairs. It was fenced off because it hosted the country’s largest Independence Day fireworks. That’s how it works—nobody wants crowds mingling with explosives. Yet the media did what they do best: ignore reality and sow outrage to fit their “Trump ruins everything” mantra. CNN’s hosts tried to stir the pot, but they ended up with egg on their faces when the real reason for the closure was laid out—plain as day.
Not to be outdone, George Stephanopoulos tried to clutch his pearls over the repair bill. Never mind that his party poured billions down the drain for failed climate schemes and open borders. When it’s about making Trump or any America-first idea look bad, suddenly every penny counts. Isn’t it funny how fast liberals forget the price tag of their own disasters?
The left wanted America’s birthday celebration to fail. They would rather root for algae and crumbling monuments than admit a single pro-American event could succeed under conservative leadership. But, once again, they got dunked on by reality. Next time, maybe liberals should pick a battle that actually matters to ordinary Americans. Or here’s a crazy idea—join the rest of us in celebrating the greatest nation on Earth for a change.
