Every Fourth of July, Americans come together to celebrate the greatest nation on earth. Freedom, sacrifice, and love of country fill the air like fireworks. But there are always celebrities and sports figures who just can’t help but use this day to criticize or “reflect” on how America isn’t good enough. This year? NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace couldn’t resist leaning into the tired, woke talking points—even on our most patriotic day.
Instead of simply wishing Americans a happy Independence Day, Wallace decided to turn his message into one of those vague, half-hearted reflections, calling America “complicated” and “a work in progress.” Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? It’s the same kind of rhetoric we hear from the left every time there’s a chance to bash our country—never fully proud, always hinting that America somehow isn’t measuring up to their elite, globalist standards.
Meanwhile, patriotic fans across the country are tired of these lectures. People don’t turn on the TV to watch NASCAR drivers give history lessons or play social justice crusader for their millions of followers. They want to see men and women who love this country, appreciate its opportunities, and respect the American flag. Folks who don’t turn their backs on the country that gave them every chance to succeed.
But let’s be honest. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. For years, the left and their allies in sports and media have been pushing ideas that drag America down. They chase woke points instead of rooting for the country. They want to “evolve” but what that really means is rewrite history, undermine tradition, and toss out the values that made us strong in the first place.
The truth is this: America was never supposed to be about endless apologies, guilt trips, or complicated word salads. It’s about freedom, courage, and pride for the red, white, and blue. If NASCAR stars and their friends want to turn July 4th into a lecture, maybe they forgot what this holiday is really about.
