Why Do Jews Keep Voting for Leftists Who Hate Them?
It’s the oldest question in American politics that no one on the left wants to answer: Why do so many Jewish Americans keep backing the party that’s crawling with open antisemites, radical socialists, and actual Nazi sympathizers? The Democratic Party used to stand up for American values. Now, it’s the same cesspool that embraces everything from Hamas-inspired terror to cancel culture mobs on college campuses—yet still, Jewish voters turn out for these people. It’s both sad and baffling.
Look at the shocking crop of recent Democrat candidates. In Maine, one Democrat Senate hopeful thought nothing of permanently inking the Nazi SS’s infamous skull insignia onto his chest. This is the same man who praised Hamas and smeared Judaism as a “death cult.” Mainstream Democrats aren’t condemning him—they’re lining up to endorse him. The disconnect is wild. These are the same coastal elitists who were ready to call every conservative a “Nazi” last year because they wanted border security or believed in God. Now, faced with a real Nazi sympathizer in their own party, they shrug it off. Apparently, political power matters more to them than basic decency.
It gets worse. In New York, a Jewish politician won his race by spewing anti-Israel propaganda—accusing Israel of “genocide” and attacking pro-Israel advocates, even admitting that this attack line played into ugly tropes. Meanwhile, leftists like Zohran Mamdani get elected with significant Jewish support, despite standing shoulder to shoulder with activists who hate Israel and, by extension, Jewish people everywhere. Have people really forgotten the lessons from the 1930s, when German Jews thought “it could never happen here”?
The truth is, today’s radical leftists don’t even bother hiding their agenda. Gone are the days of even pretending to care about working Americans or religious minorities. Instead, it’s all open borders, “abolish ICE,” and loud cheers for every mob screaming “from the river to the sea.” They pay lip service to human rights, but their policies empower criminals, destroy neighborhoods, and leave law-abiding Americans—including Jews—vulnerable. While they attack Jewish lobbying groups as somehow “evil,” they are silent about the millions flowing from foreign governments into American schools to promote anti-Israel and anti-American propaganda. Why the silence about Qatar or groups like CAIR? Easy: The left loves foreign money as long as it supports their agenda and undermines America’s Judeo-Christian foundation.
Meanwhile, Jewish college kids are living in fear, hiding their identity on supposedly “progressive” campuses. More than a third avoid wearing anything that would reveal they’re Jewish, and most who experience antisemitism say they have to hide who they are. Yet, Democrats keep pretending these mobs are “peaceful protesters.” Where is the outrage when leftist “leaders” like Darializa Chevalier create a climate of fear, lead anti-Israel rallies, and openly root for Hamas killers? Nowhere—because the left doesn’t actually care about protecting minorities, unless it fits their own narrative.
At its core, the modern left has turned on the very American ideals that once made this country safe for Jews and every other minority: free speech, freedom of religion, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Antisemitism and anti-Americanism go hand in hand, which is why today’s left despises both. Jews thrived in the United States because America valued faith, family, and freedom. Now the party of the left wants to rip it all down.
So the real question is this: How much longer will Jewish voters keep supporting a party that stands against everything Jews—and real Americans—hold dear? When will the awakening come, or is history doomed to repeat itself while the left marches gleefully off a cliff?
