Maine is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The so-called “party of women” is yet again mired in scandal—and this time it’s Democrat Senate hopeful Graham Platner facing ugly accusations. Reports say Platner, a candidate who claims to stand for justice and equality, broke into a woman’s house and sexually assaulted her. It’s stomach-turning, but sadly, it’s hardly surprising given the current state of Democrat leadership.
This is the latest example of the left’s rotten double standards. Liberals love to lecture Americans about morality and women’s rights. Yet it seems like every election cycle, we see another Democrat caught up in grotesque behavior while the establishment stares at their shoes. Where is the outrage now? Where are the wall-to-wall calls for accountability we always hear when it’s a conservative under fire?
Democrat elites have spent years telling us how virtuous and progressive they are. They throw around buzzwords like “believe all women”—right up until one of their own lands in the headlines. Suddenly, the silence is deafening. The media is quick to protect their favorite candidates while real victims get tossed aside. Americans see this hypocrisy, and they’re sick of it.
This pattern of protecting their own is nothing new. The left circles the wagons to defend their chosen candidates, even when the charges are as disturbing as home invasion and assault. Is this what Mainers want representing their values in Washington? Or is it just more proof that the Democrat machine is less interested in justice and more invested in power at any cost?
Democrats talk a big game about standing with women, but actions speak louder than words. How many more times do Americans need to witness this disgusting double standard before voters finally say enough is enough? Maybe it’s time the left stopped hiding behind empty slogans and dealt with the mess in their own backyard.
