If anyone still doubts that the Washington establishment is alive, kicking, and scheming, they should take a hard look at the latest about Senator Mitch McConnell. The man—long a pillar of the swamp—has been making phone calls, reportedly sharp as ever, digging into breaking scandals and hot-button issues. Of course, what’s he chatting about? Not border security, not the struggles of everyday Americans, but international headaches like Iran and the mess known as the Platner scandal in Maine.
It’s no surprise that even while recovering, McConnell’s mind jumps straight to pushing global interests and cleaning up liberal scandals. That’s Washington in a nutshell—when Democrats fumble and their media cronies try to bury it, entrenched DC power brokers rush to do damage control. These people never seem concerned about Main Street America. Is anyone shocked? Liberals scream about “democracy” and “the people” when it suits them, then turn around and engage in backroom talks when their own are under fire.
Let’s talk about priorities. While real Americans worry about rising prices, crime in the streets, and foreign threats, the DC elites hold hushed talks on scandals and foreign policy games. Where’s the urgency for the border crisis? Where’s the outrage for small towns getting crushed by leftist policies? But for the beltway insiders, the Platner scandal is just another chess piece on their political board.
And Iran? Every time that unstable regime acts up, the White House wobbles and old-guard politicians cluck about “dialogue” and “strategy,” pretending they’ve got it all under control. Meanwhile, the liberal base looks the other way as their leaders cave to globalist pressure and ignore American strength. When was the last time Democrats put America first on the world stage, instead of bending over backwards for hostile nations?
Never forget: the ruling class always circles the wagons when their power is threatened. The rest of us? We’re left waiting for a leader who actually fights for American values—someone unafraid to call out corruption, expose scandals, and put America ahead of party and cheap global politics. How much longer will we let them play these games while our country pays the price?
