The Democrats have finally outdone themselves. Just when you think their standards couldn’t get any lower, they surprise you yet again. The latest disaster out of Maine isn’t just another embarrassment—it’s a warning sign about just how rotten their priorities have become.
Graham Platner, the left’s hand-picked candidate to challenge Susan Collins, was already waving red flags from miles away. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to see the signs: Nazi tattoos, sickening social media posts, sketchy tech connections, and even a past marked by domestic abuse. Any sane party would have run the other way. But not today’s Democrats. Instead, they handed him the keys and told voters he was the future. The only thing Platner seemed qualified to run was a horror show.
When party insiders grilled Platner about skeletons in his closet, he gave them what had to be one of the most laughable assurances in recent political memory. Did they really believe nothing more explosive would come out? With this guy’s record, it’s shocking there wasn’t a criminal background check on page one of the campaign plan. Either Democrats are so clueless they’ll believe anything, or they’re so desperate for power that nothing—absolutely nothing—is too toxic for their agenda.
Now, after a credible rape accusation from one of Platner’s own supporters, the whole campaign is in shambles. It speaks volumes that it took a liberal woman, who openly backed his radical ideas, to break the dam and warn the public. The left keeps preaching about women’s voices and “believe survivors”—but apparently that only matters when it’s convenient for their side. This is the very definition of hypocrisy.
The bigger question here is: How did this clown ever get within a mile of becoming a Senate nominee? Has the Democrat bench run so dry that a man with Nazi symbols and a trail of scandalous rumors is the best they can dig up? Or do they just think the rules don’t apply to them? One thing is clear—when power tops all your principles, you end up with disasters like this. And they wonder why America is fed up with Washington’s elite.
Looking at this train wreck, you have to ask: How many more Platners are out there getting a pass from the party of “values?” Maybe the left’s only true litmus test is blind obedience. If that’s what passes as “progress,” it’s no wonder voters are running in the opposite direction.
