Another day, another Democrat scandal. Now it’s Maine’s Senate hopeful, Graham Platner, smack dab in the middle of a real mess. Just as his campaign is desperately hunting for a new Research Director, an ugly allegation comes out: Platner is accused of sneaking into a woman’s home and raping her. That’s the kind of “leadership” liberals are offering? Give me a break.
You’d think, with Democrats lecturing the rest of us nonstop about women’s rights, they’d actually believe women when it matters. But we all know how this goes. When it’s one of their own, the left stutters, gaslights, or just plain ignores. They’ll run cover, spin the headlines, and pray you look away. If this were a conservative candidate, there would be protests in the street, endless cable news coverage, and a call for an immediate resignation. But with Platner, it’s nothing but crickets from the “believe all women” crowd.
It’s always the same tired script. Liberals love to parade themselves as heroes for women and defenders of justice—until their own backyards get messy. Suddenly, it’s all “allegations” and “innocent until proven guilty.” The hypocrisy is staggering. Just imagine if a Republican had even a shadow of this kind of accusation leveled against them. The left’s double standard is alive and well.
And now Platner’s campaign is scrambling, trying to fill a key role while hoping voters forget about the serious allegations hovering over their candidate. Business as usual for Democrats: ignore the real problems, distract the public, and hire another flunky to paper over the mess. All that matters is holding onto power—truth and accountability are just speed bumps on their highway to Washington.
Maybe it’s time voters ask themselves: will the left ever hold their own to the same standards they demand from conservatives? Or will they keep hiding the dirt while preaching from their phony pedestal? The answer is clear—Democrat hypocrisy has reached a new low. Maine deserves a whole lot better than this.
