The Maine Democrat Party just proved once again why Americans are sick of dirty politics and back-room deals. Instead of letting the voters decide who should face off against Senator Susan Collins, Democrat party bosses sent a loud-and-clear message to Senate candidate Graham Platner: zip it and get out of the way. Why? Because Platner isn’t their chosen one, and they’d rather handpick someone who’ll play their political games.
Apparently, asking questions and expecting a fair process is now “bothering” the Democrat leadership. The executive director couldn’t have been more dismissive. Platner’s campaign was told they have zero leverage, and absolutely no right to have a say in their own replacement. So much for the so-called party of “democracy.” When the left’s precious power is on the line, they toss transparency out the window and start barking orders like a pack of entitled elites.
But let’s not kid ourselves—this is the Democrat playbook in action. When voters pick someone who doesn’t fit the DNC mold, the globalist machine rushes in, steamrolls the little guy, and tries to rewrite the script. The message here? If you’re not part of the establishment club, shut up and take a seat. And if you dare challenge their authority, expect to be silenced and shoved aside.
This is the same tired hypocrisy Americans see everywhere: liberals lecture us about free speech and fair elections, but behind closed doors, they run their own party like an exclusive cartel. It’s not about the people. It’s about protecting their own power and squashing anyone who gets in the way of their progressive agenda. Regular Mainers don’t want handpicked yes-men—they want leaders who answer to real people, not party overlords.
Remember this moment the next time Democrats pretend to champion the voice of the “grassroots.” In reality, they only care about the voice of their donors and the whims of their inner circle. The left is terrified of real competition and fresh ideas—so is it really any surprise that they’re scrambling to pick Collins’ opponent just the way they like it? If Democrats can’t even respect their own candidates, why would they ever respect the voters?
