Look no further than Andrew Gillum, the guy who almost grabbed Florida’s top job from Ron DeSantis in 2018. He missed it by a smidge—just about 34,000 votes. Now? He’s making headlines for all the wrong reasons, stuck in an Alabama jail cell because police allegedly found meth and marijuana in his car during a routine stop.
Let’s remember, this is the same Andrew Gillum Democrats were parading around as the future of the party. They wanted him running an entire state, shaping policy for millions of Americans. But it turns out, he couldn’t even keep himself out of trouble. Drugs? Lawbreaking? Is this what passes for leadership in the liberal playbook these days?
It’s not just embarrassing. It’s a glimpse into what happens when you let leftist ideology run wild. The left wants government in charge of everything, but can’t even vet their own candidates. The so-called “social justice warriors” have nothing to say when one of their own gets tangled up with hard drugs. If this was a Republican, the mainstream media would be calling for resignations and demanding investigations on every network. But with Gillum, there are only crickets from his liberal buddies.
This is about more than one failed candidate. It’s a warning. Democrats are quick to pass judgment on conservatives, slapping us with labels and threats. But when their heroes fall, they spin or ignore the disaster altogether. They scream about “inclusivity” and “tolerance,” yet their poster child was allegedly hopped up on drugs during a traffic stop in the Heart of Dixie.
Ron DeSantis dodged a bullet, and so did Florida. Voters should remember Gillum as the face of modern liberalism—reckless, entitled, and utterly unfit for office. Is this really who you want running your state, deciding your kids’ future? Imagine how close we came to disaster if the left had gotten their way.
